NAAMII enters a new chapter with the appointment of Ms. Sandhya Sitoula as its new Executive Director, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s continued journey of advancing AI research, collaboration and innovation in Nepal.
On International Women’s Day, NAAMII announced Ms. Sandhya Sitoula as its new Executive Director. Having served for two years as a member of NAAMII’s Board of Directors, Ms. Sitoula brings experience from diverse fields including law, human rights and social justice.
Her interdisciplinary background brings a valuable perspective to NAAMII’s work, strengthening the connection between technology, people, and society. As Executive Director, she will support NAAMII’s efforts to expand research, strengthen collaborations, and further its commitment to building an AI ecosystem that is ethical, inclusive, and responsive to real-world needs.
Reflecting on her new role, Ms. Sitoula shared her gratitude for the trust placed in her to lead NAAMII into its next chapter. She emphasised that this transition is not only about leadership but about strengthening the collective commitment toward responsible and inclusive AI.
